Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization course for EU Member States inspectors
The 2025 NAFO course for EU Member States inspectors involved in control operations covered by the NAFO-NEAFC Joint Deployment Plan (NAFO-NEAFC JDP) will take place on 1-3 April in the EFCA premises in Vigo (Spain).
EFCA invites NAFO inspectors from Member States to participate in this course. The main objective of the course is to prepare inspectors to work on board FPVs during missions in the NAFO Regulatory Area. Therefore, this invitation is directed to all Member States inspectors appointed to sea going missions in the NAFO area for 2025.
We will apply the learner-oriented approach promoted by the Sectoral Qualifications Framework (SQF) for this event In this regard, the training will be based on a course design model which includes defined learning outcomes, entry requirements, learning phases and a final assessment.
Due to pedagogical reasons, the number of participants should not exceed 20.
Please note, that prior to their participation in the course on 1 – 3 April 2025, inspectors are required to complete the course “General principles and specific types of fisheries inspection” which includes several modules and is available on the EFCA e-learning platform. This requirement aims to harmonise the overall level of knowledge and provide a common understanding of general terms. Each module is followed by a short summary quiz. At the end of the course successful participants (i.e. having 80% or more of good answers to all modules' quiz) will get a certificate of completion of the pre-assessment course. Those participants who have passed the pre-condition course earlier either for NAFO or NEAFC course, do not need to repeat it.
